  • When can my vendors, wedding party, and guests arrive?

    The contracted space may only be accessd during your contracted reservation time, including any vendors and attendees. It is the responsibility of the client to inform all parties of these policies.

    Exceeding the reservation window (before or after) will result in a minimum $1,500 fine added to the final invoice.

  • Where can my guests park?

    Parking lots are reserved as close to the Chapel as possible, and are determined based on your anticipated guest count and other University operations. You will receive a list and/or map of designated parking lots for your ceremony.

    Please note that the University hosts multiple events on weekends, which can mean increased traffic which may impact or limit guest parking. We work to find a reasonable solution for all attending, however we cannot guarantee specific parking lots or number of spaces.

  • Is Cannon Memorial Chapel ADA accessible?

    Yes, Cannon Memorial Chapel is ADA accessible. Your event coordinator can work with you on specific arrangements as needed.
  • Are there restrooms in Cannon Memorial Chapel?

    There are no public restrooms available inside Cannon Memorial Chapel. Guest restrooms are located adjacent to the Chapel in both the Wilton Center and the Gottwald Science Center. A directional sign will be placed to direct guests.

  • Does Cannon Memorial Chapel have sound equipment?

    Cannon Memorial Chapel is built for non-amplified sound (i.e., speaking voice and instrumentalists). Sound or AV equipment is not available for use.

    For amplified sound, clients may hire a vendor to provide services and the necessary equipment.

  • Chapel Items Available for Use

    • The piano and organ may be used, but may not be moved.

  • Signage Policy

    Clients may be responsible for purchasing, placing, and retrieving signs by the end of the contracted reservation time. Please see the package details for more information.

    Signs must be posted on metal stakes, which may be purchased from the University of Richmond Print Shop, and may only be placed on University of Richmond Property.

    Signs may not:

    • block stop signs or directional signage.
    • be placed in flower beds.
    • be attached to trees.
    • be attached to any brick walls or seating areas at entrances to and throughout the University.
  • Photography Policy

    All photography must be completed within the contracted reservation time. This applies to spaces both inside and outside Cannon Memorial Chapel.

    Photographers may not be on the Cannon Memorial Chapel platform during the ceremony.

    Flash photography is allowed within Cannon Memorial Chapel.

  • Do I need to clean up after the ceremony?

    Yes. All flowers, decorations, and trash must be removed by the end of the reservation time. Failure to do so will incur a minimum $200 cleaning fee added to the final invoice.
